Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Azusa, CA seeks a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer (Level 3) or Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer (Level 4) to join our on-site team. The role emphasizes system security, risk assessment, and DoD compliance across hardware and software products.

You will lead RMF/DoD protection activities, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure secure, resilient programs in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of related experience; or Master’s with 3+ years; or PhD with 1+ year.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance (US Citizenship Required).
• Ability to obtain a CISSP within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform system planning, integration, verification, validation, risk analysis, and supportability assessments for total systems.
• Develop and update PPPs and ATPs in alignment with DoDI 5200.39 and related guidelines.
• Coordinate RMF controls and STIG requirements across software and hardware components.
• Lead cross-functional discussions with senior leaders and customers to resolve gaps.
• Assess system vulnerabilities and mission risks using DoD guidelines.
