Job summary

Oracle in Nashville seeks a Lead Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer to drive scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems for our strategic OCI customers. You will lead end-to-end execution across service teams, influence architectural decisions, and mentor engineers to elevate technical excellence.

The role blends hands-on engineering with strong communication, aligning requirements, improving reliability, and advancing performance across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in software engineering, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience designing and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems in large-scale production environments.
• Strong programming experience in Java, C++, C#, or similar languages, with hands-on scripting and automation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Serve as a technical SME, guiding strategy and standards across OCI service teams.
• Drive end-to-end execution of cross-organizational engineering initiatives with aligned deliverables.
• Identify and resolve scalability, performance, and reliability bottlenecks for high-throughput workloads.
• Evaluate trade-offs in availability, consistency, security, and performance to meet SLOs.
• Design and implement infrastructure automation, tooling, and change management.
• Establish observability strategies, dashboards, KPIs, and alerting to monitor health.
