Job summary

Oracle in Nashville is seeking a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer to own the design and development of OCI's major components, focusing on scalable distributed systems, Linux, and low-level firmware/software services.

You will collaborate with Compute, Networking, Security, and Data Center teams to launch, scale, and maintain new server platforms. The role values deep systems expertise and a drive to simplify complex distributed workflows.

Qualifications

• Must live near Nashville, TN in order to regularly go into the office, or be willing to relocate to the area for onsite work.
• 6-10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems, Linux development and Systems debugging.
• Strong knowledge of Object Oriented programming such as C++ or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and familiarity with networking protocols.

Responsibilities

• Own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Design, develop, operate, and debug stack components and low level systems such as Linux, Docker, Java web services and Terraform.
• Collaborate with Compute, Networking, Security, and Data Center teams to ensure scalable, reliable server platforms.
• Pursue simplicity and scale, proactively identify and solve problems to deliver results.
