Oracle is seeking a Principal Core Infrastructure Engineer in Nashville, onsite, to lead the design and development of scalable, elastic distributed systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Go, C# or comparable language.
• Experience designing, building, and deploying cloud-native services and APIs.
• Strong fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design, relational/distributed databases.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs and deliver reliable production services.
• Experience with modern development practices: CI/CD, automated testing, source control, monitoring and production reliability.
• Experience owning technical designs and coordinating implementation across teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and architect scalable distributed systems.
• Define scalability requirements and ensure design meets them.
• Design systems to scale with elasticity and handle large-scale data processing.
• Implement fault-tolerant components with redundancy, replication, and failover.
• Design for service disruptions with focus on consistency, availability, or partition tolerance.
• Develop KPIs and telemetry; build dashboards and alerts for system health.
• Design test scenarios including fault-injection and brown-outs; ensure data integrity and availability.
• Handle operational troubleshooting, incident response, and rotation duty.
