Job summary

Workday, Inc. is seeking a senior engineer to lead the Observability Platform and Services. This hands-on role focuses on architecture, standards, and evangelism for observability across logs, metrics, traces, and alerts.

You will work with Observability Platform engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to evolve the platform, driving incident detection, triage, and recovery with MCPs and agents.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering/architect experience.
• Strong coding in Java/Scala/Go/Python.
• Experience with Observability platforms (Prometheus, Jaeger, etc.).
• Familiarity with LangChain or similar LLMS orchestration frameworks.
• Experience handling large-scale data and observability across OSI layers.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership for Workday’s Observability Platform and Services.
• Drive standardization and evangelize Observability tooling across teams.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Technology Operations & Product teams.
