Job summary

Workday is seeking a senior member of the Data Platform and Observability team to design and evolve scalable observability services. You will work across distributed systems, ensuring real-time data collection, processing, and visibility for critical workloads.

The role requires strong coding in Java/Python with Go as a plus, hands-on Kubernetes experience, and the ability to operate across hybrid cloud environments. Security clearance is preferred, with on-site work in the DMV area.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience building high-performance data ingestion software.
• Strong coding in Java and Python; Go a plus.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infra.
• Active TS/SCI w/CI Poly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance observability services (Monitoring, Logging, Alerting, Tracing).
• Develop data capture and collection services across Kubernetes, OpenStack, Bare Metal.
• Build data processing modules for real-time and batch workloads.
• Create metrics ingestion pipelines and dashboard automation.
• Participate in on-call rotation and ensure data quality and availability.
