Job summary

Prellis Biologics, Inc. in Berkeley, CA, is seeking a Senior / Principal Scientist — Antibody Protein Engineering to lead late-stage antibody design and optimization, maturing hits into development-ready leads.

You will be responsible for: Leading late-stage antibody design and optimization — affinity maturation, Fc engineering, and developability polishing to advance lead candidates toward development. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment and play a critical role

Qualifications

• PhD in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Protein Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on biologics reformatting across modalities and Fc engineering.
• Proven experience optimizing antibody lead candidates (affinity, developability).
• Hands-on experience with biologics screening using advanced platforms and imaging.
• Computational fluency: PyMOL, Schrödinger, and at least one protein language model.

Responsibilities

• Lead late-stage antibody design and optimization to refine and advance lead candidates.
• Build an integrated wet-lab + computational platform for reformatting and library design.
• Design and execute screening campaigns and ML training-data initiatives; automate workflows.
• Mentor junior researchers; collaborate with Data Science/AI to advance models.
