Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal / Senior Principal Engineer Aeronautical - Software to join the Test and Evaluation team onsite in Melbourne, FL.

The role supports development of virtual lab topology, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and device emulation while ensuring security and compliance. US Secret clearance required with SAP eligibility; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM with 5+ years of related experience OR Master of Science with 3+ years OR STEM Ph.D. with 1+ year.
• Active US Government Secret clearance (or higher) with a recent background investigation or Continuous Evaluation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.
• Willingness to obtain RHCSA certification.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Experience across Windows and/or Linux environments (RHEL, Debian, Ubuntu or similar).

Responsibilities

• Develop virtual lab topology (compute, storage, networking) using standard hypervisors and container orchestration.
• Create automation scripts (IaC) for provisioning and lifecycle management of lab resources.
• Build or integrate device emulation layers exposing virtual instruments to end users.
• Create CI/CD pipelines for lab images, updates, and patches.
• Produce design diagrams, SOPs, user guides and train lab administrators.
• Translate experimental procedures into reproducible virtual workflows.
