Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Senior Animal Behaviorist to join our Primate team in Greenfield, IN. You will collaborate with veterinarians, scientists, and staff to develop innovative behavior management strategies enhancing animal welfare and scientific excellence.

Role involves leading behavior studies, training staff, analyzing data, and presenting findings to stakeholders. Strong GLP and enrichment expertise preferred; relocation and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field required.
• 8+ years in professional animal research or care in relevant settings.
• 5+ years in behavior management with primates or similar species.
• 3+ years in a GLP environment is required.
• Strong ability to communicate behavioral observations professionally.
• Knowledge of enrichment, reinforcement training and socialization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure humane care and welfare of animals in research, with high ethical standards.
• Perform behavior assessments, observations, planning and enrichment implementation.
• Design behavioral studies and support procedures at multiple levels.
• Support program implementation through training, competency checks and evals.
• Lead analysis of behavioral data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Directors, veterinarians, clients, and IACUC for strategy.
• Provide onboarding and ongoing behavioral training for staff.
• Deliver presentations on animal behavior for audits and meetings.
• Stay aligned with evolving industry standards and best practices.
