Job summary

New Mexico Courts seeks a Pretrial Services Officer Leadworker in Albuquerque, NM. You will lead staff in thorough criminal background investigations prior to adjudication and develop release and supervision plans for defendants.

The role requires oversight of supervision contracts, monitoring compliance, and collaboration with treatment providers to support court-ordered conditions. Valid driver’s license and travel may be required; schedule may include nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social sciences or related field.
• Four (4) years' experience in criminal justice, social services, probation, corrections or related field.
• Education substitution: four years of related experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and train staff in conducting pre-release and pre-adjudication background investigations.
• Formulate release, supervision and case management plans for defendants.
• Supervise defendant’s compliance with court-ordered programs and conditions of release.
• Track daily attendance and approve leaves and time sheets.
• Determine release eligibility and formulate release plans.
• Oversee supervision contracts and protocols.
• Verify defendant’s needs and develop treatment referrals.
• Provide case management and court-ordered monitoring.
