Job summary

Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court is seeking a Pretrial Services Officer Leadworker to oversee pre-adjudication investigations and supervision plans in Albuquerque, NM. The role focuses on leading staff, formulating release strategies, and ensuring defendants meet court-ordered conditions.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice or related field and at least four years of relevant experience, with opportunities to mentor staff and coordinate treatment referrals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social sciences or related field.
• Four years of directly related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Four years’ experience in criminal justice, social services, probation, corrections or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and train staff in conducting thorough pre-release and pre-adjudication background investigations.
• Formulate release, supervision and case management plans for defendants.
• Supervise defendant’s compliance with court-ordered programs and conditions of release.
• Track daily attendance and approve leave requests and time sheets.
• Determine release eligibility and formulate release plans.
• Oversee supervision contracts and protocol per program policies.
• Verify defendant’s needs and develop treatment referrals.
• Provide case management services based on needs and court-ordered conditions.
• Maintain alcohol and drug screening protocols and equipment.
• Collaborate with treatment providers and monitor compliance reports.
• Document and notify the court of compliance and outcomes.
• Participate in court proceedings and related meetings.
