Job summary

RR Donnelley in Illinois is seeking a prepress specialist to review client files, adjust layouts, and prepare plates for press. The role requires Mac proficiency in a manufacturing setting, strong color management, and experience with Kodak Prinergy and Adobe Creative Suite.

You will work with Customer Service and production to ensure accurate, high-quality output. The position is 1st shift with competitive hourly pay and full benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time

Qualifications

• Experience with Mac in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong process color understanding and ability to color correct and proof.
• Familiarity with color management and variable data creation.
• Proficient with digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) across Mac/PC.
• Experience with Kodak Prinergy and relevant imposition software.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and desktop publishing tools.

Responsibilities

• Review client electronic files for thoroughness before plate making.
• Manipulate print job layouts to fit paper dimensions using publishing software.
• Determine page layout with folds, trims, bleeds, and crop marks.
• Identify missing or problematic components and communicate to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Customer Service and production to resolve issues.
• Load customer files for output and prepare color proofs when needed.
• Operate CTP plate making and bending/tabbing equipment for plates.
• Run quality checks on finished plates prior to manufacturing release.
