Job summary

Cambium is seeking a Senior Technician to lead operation of our 12" wide pilot prepreg line in El Segundo, CA. This hands-on role does not involve people management; you will set the daily pace, train teammates, and work with engineers to scale new materials.

You will oversee resin mixing, prepregging, quality checks, and production scheduling for internal development programs and external customers, while maintaining batch records and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience operating prepreg or coating equipment.
• Experience mixing and handling thermoset resin systems (e.g., epoxy, BMI, phenolic).
• Strong documentation and traceability through batch records.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the 12" wide pilot prepreg line, including setup, threading, web tension, coating/nip gap, line speed, and temperature control.
• Act as a lead for a small team, assign daily tasks, provide hands-on training, and respond to line questions.
• Oversee resin mixing and staging to keep the line supplied and on schedule.
• Ensure prepreg meets specification for resin content, areal weight, tack, and volatile content; perform QC checks.
• Plan and execute production runs to meet internal development and external customer schedules; communicate status and risks to engineering.
• Maintain batch records, run logs, material traceability, and inventory; track out-times.
