Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer to support R&D and scale-up of prepreg and impregnation for CMC feedstock used in TPS components. You will perform hands-on prepregs, drive process improvements, and work across QA, materials characterization, and scale-up activities.

The role targets recent graduates or early-career engineers with a passion for composite materials and manufacturing scale-up in aerospace applications. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with composite processing, polymer/slurry processing, and/or materials characterization techniques.
• Must be willing to work weekends when necessary.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Support slurry preparation, fiber impregnation, and prepreg manufacturing operations.
• Develop and optimize impregnation parameters to control fiber content, resin/slurry loading, and material uniformity.
• Own process QA data collection, analysis, and database management.
• Characterize raw materials and prepreg to assess quality and guide process development.
• Develop and optimize slurry and impregnation processes to improve material consistency and process repeatability.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standardized operating procedures.
• Support installation, maintenance, and scale-up of prepreg manufacturing hardware.
