Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) is seeking an experienced Project Architect IV for our San Diego PreK-12 Education practice. This senior role leads medium- to large-scale projects from planning through closeout, ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction.

The candidate will mentor teams, oversee documentation, and serve as Architect of Record when assigned, with strong DSA knowledge and construction administration experience in California educational facilities.

Qualifications

• BS Arch or equivalent Degree required.
• Active California Architectural License required.
• NCARB certification preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and technical execution of medium- to large-scale PreK-12 projects.
• Develop and oversee construction documents compliant with DSA, codes, and design intent.
• Create and manage the Discipline Work Plan with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate work across disciplines, consultants, and production teams for seamless delivery.
• Lead interactions with AHJs, DSA, and local permitting processes.
• Guide teams through the DSA approval process and project closeout requirements.
