Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) in Dallas seeks a Project Architect III for our PreK-12 Education practice. This role supports design development through construction under supervision, mentoring junior staff, and advancing sustainable, high-performance learning environments.

The candidate brings 7+ years in A/E, Revit proficiency, and a track record with California PreK-12 projects, combined with strong communication and collaboration skills. A hybrid work setup is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and architecture licensure required.
• LEED Accredited preferred, with emphasis on sustainable and resilient design.
• Minimum seven (7) years' experience in the A/E industry required.
• Proficiency in Revit required.
• Demonstrated experience delivering California PreK-12 educational facilities projects required.
• Strong working knowledge of educational facility design standards required.
• Ability to motivate and mentor staff and delegate work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and coordination of the architectural scope of work with the Project Manager.
• Produce and manage coordinated construction documents meeting standards and code compliance.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants for alignment and design integrity.
• Support code interpretation and regulatory compliance; coordinate with AHJs for permitting.
• Conduct material, product, and building systems research for detailing and specs.
• Oversee construction administration activities (RFIs, submittals, field reports).
• May serve as Architect of Record and sign/seal documents as appropriate.
• Provide technical mentorship and support development of technical standards.
