Job summary

HED is seeking a senior Project Manager for its Pre K‑12 education sector in San Francisco, with a decade or more in the A/E industry and at least five years in a leading PM role. You will oversee risk, resources, scheduling, and financial performance, with DSA‑permitted projects in CA and professional licensure required.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years' post-graduate professional experience in the A/E industry.
• Minimum five years’ experience as an A/E or Client‑Side Project Manager with direct responsibility for financial and risk management.
• Experience with DSA‑permitted Pre K‑12 projects in California.
• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering.
• Professional Licensure in California.
• LEED Accreditation preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Principal‑in‑Charge with proposals and owner negotiations.
• Lead and direct multidisciplinary A/E teams through all project phases.
• Prepare and monitor project plans, strategies, and schedules.
• Manage client activities, contracts, and value enhancements beyond the Owner Agreement.
• Oversee discipline budgets, staffing, and profit goals.
• Coordinate design reviews and construction administration activities.
• Support post‑construction evaluation and metrics discussions.
