Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience with a commercial general contractor or related firm.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Strong in-person and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Manage preconstruction processes with owners, design teams and subs from concept to contract.
• Build and maintain detailed estimates from concept through contract execution.
• Estimate self-performed trades such as cast-in-place concrete, rough framing and finish carpentry.
• Track scope changes and value engineering during design.
• Review specifications and drawings to determine scope and contents of the estimate.
• Manage design-build MEP trades through the preconstruction phase.
• Prepare and issue bid documents.
• Consolidate risks and opportunities for overall project cost.
• Present estimates and budgets to clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with clients and design teams to maintain budgets.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and team members.
• Ensure smooth turnover from preconstruction to construction operations.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently across different preconstruction stages.
• Take initiative in business development.
