Job summary

Renewyx in Houston is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to own the preconstruction phase from concept through permit documents, building accurate, competitive estimates and leading bid strategy to maximize award potential.

You will also support business development, helping strengthen relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors while guiding takeoffs and value-engineered options across multiple delivery methods.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of estimating conceptual and hard bid construction projects for a general contractor.
• Design-build experience on relevant project types.
• OSHA 10-hour and First Aid/CPR certifications.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Comfort working across Design-Build, CM at Risk, CM not at Risk, and hard bid delivery methods.
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, DESTINI Estimator).
• Strong relationships across local subcontractor and design community.

Responsibilities

• Prepare thorough, competitive cost estimates through all design phases from concept to construction documents.
• Identify value-engineered alternatives across methods, materials, schedules, and design.
• Run bid and precon meetings to define scope and proposal specifications.
• Prepare bid packages and lead bid solicitation and RFP coordination.
• Perform takeoffs across multiple trades and analyze subcontractor proposals for cost, scope, and completeness.
• Negotiate pricing with clients and qualified subcontractors.
• Build preliminary schedules and hand off the estimate to the Project Manager.
