Job summary

Talentify is seeking an experienced Estimator for our Houston, TX Preconstruction team. This role supports the Lead Estimators and Preconstruction Manager across the Launch process, performing quantity take-offs, value engineering, and GMP readiness.

The candidate will collaborate with designers and owners, use BIM for take-off, review design docs, and prepare bid proposals. Requires 8+ years in construction estimating, a bachelor’s degree in engineering or CM, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction or similar; 8 years of experience or equivalent.
• Experience in project engineering, field supervision or purchasing.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
• Ability to read, interpret contract docs, drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Extensive knowledge of estimating documents; capable of qualitative/quantitative analysis.
• Conceptual thinker; can work with minimal information to understand owner/architect requirements.
• Project management skills to manage multiple demands and deadlines.
• Familiar with procedures across Procurement and Operations; supervisory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication; proficient with estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Preconstruction Manager and team in estimating functions during the launch process.
• Coordinate trade partner bid lists with procurement for budget pricing and bidding.
• Lead review meetings with owner, architect, and engineer in Preconstruction.
• Prepare comparisons to previous estimates and explain variances to stakeholders.
• Manage distribution of design documents for budgeting and bidding; ensure trade input.
