Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking a Sr. Preconstruction Manager to lead the development and execution of preconstruction strategies that enhance value for clients during critical early phases.

You will drive opportunities across sectors on projects from $30M to $300M, coordinating with internal teams to craft compelling proposals, cost models, and procurement plans, while upholding Shawmut's ownership-driven culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of construction management experience.
• Experience leading preconstruction teams on $50m-$300m projects.
• Experience developing preconstruction workplans and driving owner/architect alignment.
• Experience developing general condition and project requirement studies.
• Experience developing master schedules, front-end design, and procurement requirements.
• Experience leading a design-build team during preconstruction for on-budget, on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop preconstruction strategies to drive region goals and add client value.
• Lead preconstruction on projects ranging from $30M to $300M across sectors.
• Coordinate with Business Lead, Business Development, and PX on strategic opportunities.
• Manage RFQ/RFP/Interview processes and develop project-specific proposals and interviews.
• Collaborate with Construction Management, Marketing, Estimating, Scheduling, and Engineering Services to develop content for proposals.
• Provide cost, quality, performance, and schedule guidance to the design team and owner.
• Track preconstruction costs, forecasts, and variances; manage the preconstruction budget.
