Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction in Providence, RI is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead the development and execution of preconstruction strategies that drive value for our clients.

You will coordinate with the Owner, design teams, and Shawmut specialists to develop work plans, cost estimates, and procurement content for $50M–$300M projects, ensuring on-budget, on-time delivery and exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of construction management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and work experience.
• Experience leading construction management teams in the preconstruction phase for large projects.
• Experience developing master schedules and front-end design/procurement requirements.
• Experience leading a design-build team during preconstruction to meet milestones.

Responsibilities

• Develops preconstruction strategies to drive regional goals and client value.
• Manage RFQ/RFP/Interview processes and proposals with internal resources.
• Develop project-specific content including estimates, cost options, and schedules.
• Lead preconstruction meetings and ensure schedule, cost, quality, and constructability are incorporated into design decisions.
• Manage Preconstruction Services Budget, Cost Reporting, and Billing; track costs and variances.
