Job summary

DOC is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead projects in the design and planning phases, ensuring predictable outcomes before construction begins. You will partner with owners, architects, engineers, estimators, and internal teams to align with client goals for cost, schedule, quality, and constructability.

You will drive risk management, develop detailed work plans, and act as the main liaison through design, continuing into construction.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of construction management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong working knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and purchasing.
• Solid understanding of construction materials and building systems.
• Experience with CMAR and/or Design-Build delivery methods preferred.
• Strong planning, organization, and risk management skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Preconstruction Process: Develop and execute detailed preconstruction work plans in partnership with the Director of Preconstruction and Project Executives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact during the design phase and lead preconstruction meetings.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders and provide cost, scheduling, logistics, risk mitigation, and constructability guidance to owners and design teams.
• Ensure project designs align with owner objectives and approved budgets; support Target Value Design and Lean practices.
• Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies; monitor design progress against milestones.
