Job summary

D. Clugston, Inc. is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to lead the planning and development of commercial construction projects from concept through turnover to operations. This role requires strategic leadership to align scope, schedule, budget, and quality within a design-build framework.

The ideal candidate will guide design decisions, manage multiple projects, and drive cost control while delivering exceptional client service and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in commercial construction estimating or preconstruction.
• Proven leadership of preconstruction efforts on commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Experience developing conceptual budgets through GMP or negotiated pricing.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of the preconstruction process from concept design through construction start.
• Manage multiple projects with budgets, schedules, and quality targets.
• Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Coordinate communications among owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Provide constructability reviews and design coordination recommendations.
• Support procurement, bidding, and value engineering activities.
