Job summary

Moss is seeking a Sr. Preconstruction Manager to lead budgeting, GMP, and cross-functional teaming on design-build and EPC projects in Texas. This on-site role collaborates with the Preconstruction Chief to manage team members and ensure accurate, comprehensive estimates.

Responsibilities include developing bid tabs, performing takeoffs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and presenting design and pricing detail to Owners and A/E teams. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a college degree in a related field.
• Eight or more years of preconstruction experience.
• Ability to self-manage with minimal direction.
• Knowledge of summary and detailed pricing by trade.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects with estimating responsibilities and deadlines.
• Under supervision of Preconstruction Chief, manage a Design Build project from concept to final contract award.
• Perform accurate quantity surveys of materials using On Screen Take Off/Bluebeam.
• Fill in gaps from drawings and design documents for multiple trades.
• Develop comprehensive takeoffs and unit pricing for all trades.
• Review drawings for missing information and write RFIs to Architects & Engineers.
• Develop bid tabs from trade contractors to ensure accurate scope.
• Provide cost-saving suggestions by trade and communicate with operations about site logistics.
• Provide progressive estimates with cost variance reconciliations.
• Present design and pricing to Owners & A/E teams and explain variances or recommend solutions.
• Focus on risk management regarding qualifications, scope, and constructability.
• Prepare completeness reviews and constructability assessments of design documents
