Job summary

Rex Moore Group, Inc. in Sacramento seeks a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead the preconstruction phase of complex projects, collaborating with design, engineering and project management teams to shape strategies and budgets.

You will own scope and client expectations through design and bid, develop bid strategies, review documents, negotiate contracts, and mentor the pre-award team while advancing Rex Moore's standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience estimating and 5+ large scale projects thru design
• Advanced knowledge of NEC/CEC relevant to electrical construction
• Strong sales, negotiating, presentation and organization skills
• Leadership to guide a 3–5 person bid team
• Experience reading and interpreting plans and specs (electrical scope)
• Graduate apprenticeship or electrical journeyman certification preferred
• Electrical engineering degree or PMP/Construction Management beneficial

Responsibilities

• Maintain ownership of a project from bid through design issuance for permit
• Advance Rex Moore’s pre-award process and integrated solutions
• Train and oversee pre-award team for strategic bid responses
• Maintain and grow client relationships
• Review bid documents to align scope and mitigate risks
• Develop bid strategies and labor rates with HR and estimators
• Lead external design meetings with architects, owners, utilities, AHJs
• Manage scope, budget and client expectations during design and delivery
