Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction activities in Virginia Beach. The role focuses on construction cost estimating, bid strategy, and owner/architect interaction to deliver accurate proposals.

The candidate will manage the estimators, collaborate with the team on scope, and refine pricing for design-build projects while ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction estimating experience with complex bids.
• Experience managing or leading estimators/preconstruction team members.
• Ability to review plans and develop complete cost estimates and bids.
• Experience with design-build projects and refining scope/pricing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and takeoff software.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities; effective communicator.

Responsibilities

• Determine scope and cost requirements for construction projects.
• Manage estimators and/or preconstruction team members.
• Collaborate with preconstruction to establish project scope.
• Review plans, specifications, drawings, and related documents.
• Develop and maintain overall construction cost estimates and bids.
• Lead design-build teams in refining project scope and pricing.
• Develop conceptual estimates from limited information.
• Lead meetings with Owners and Architects; build subcontractor relationships.
• Ensure proposals stay on track with schedules and resources.
• Promote safety, quality, integrity, and professionalism on projects.
