Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a seasoned security operations leader to manage on-site security teams and develop procedures protecting people and assets on construction sites. The role also drives preconstruction efforts, including GMP and lump-sum bids, with strong collaboration across operations, safety, and design teams.

You will lead budget oversight, perform variance analyses, and mentor staff while coordinating with owners, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate estimates

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field is required.
• Minimum 10 years of building construction experience.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, contracts, materials, means and methods.
• Knowledge of cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles.
• Ability to develop client relationships and identify sales opportunities.
• Extensive knowledge of regional market, competition, and industry trends.
• Ability to analyze estimating documents with qualitative and quantitative insight.
• Advanced project management skills in a high-volume, complex environment.
• Management experience including coaching and mentoring others.
• Negotiation skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site security operations and team performance.
• Develop and implement security procedures to protect people and assets.
• Lead preconstruction activities including GMP and lump sum bid considerations.
• Collaborate with Operations on schedule, logistics, safety, and constructability reviews.
• Develop assumptions/clarifications and maintain client/partner relationships.
• Manage preconstruction budget and provide monthly financial updates.
• Lead design reviews with owner, architect, and engineer for preconstruction.
• Provide variance analyses and messages to stakeholders for each estimate.
• Establish preconstruction QC processes for scope and estimates.
• Identify opportunities to improve preconstruction via VDC, IPD, and lean methods.
• Coordinate with Lean Manager on pull plans and launch matrix for milestones.
• Generate and manage Budget Control Reports and cost event tracking.
