Job summary

Moss & Associates is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager in Fort Lauderdale, FL to lead budgeting, GMP development, and design-build initiatives. You will supervise a team, refine estimates, and drive cost-saving opportunities across multiple large commercial projects.

Reporting to the Director of Preconstruction, you will collaborate with Operations, Trade Contractors, and Owners. A strong background in office, hospitality, higher education, and sports projects is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from College/University; 4-Year BS Degree in related field.
• Minimum of Eight (8) Years’ previous work experience in Preconstruction.
• Experience in large commercial projects such as office, hospitality, higher education, and sports.
• Ability to self‑manage work with very little direction.
• Knowledge of summary level and detailed level pricing by Trade.
• Ability to read specifications with clear understanding of subject matter of Trade Specialists.
• Knowledge of Trade Specific Scope Responsibilities & Unit Pricing (All Trades but MEP).
• Ability to read, interpret & understand plans proficiently, from Conceptual Drawings to 100% CDs.
• Constructability awareness and cost-saving opportunity identification.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned multiple projects with estimating responsibilities and deadlines.
• Manage a Design Build Project from Concept to Final Contract Award under Preconstruction Chief.
• Perform accurate quantity surveying using On Screen Take Off/Bluebeam.
• Fill in missing information from drawings and design documents for most trades.
• Assemble detailed estimates with takeoffs and unit pricing for multiple projects.
• Write RFIs and submit to Architects & Engineers by Trade.
• Develop bid tabs from Trade Contractors’ proposals for accurate scope.
• Provide cost-saving suggestions by trade.
• Present to Owners & A/E Team explaining variances and solutions to stay on budget.
• Focus on risk management regarding qualifications, scope and constructability.
