Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, or supervise owner/agency inspections for DOT and structural precast programs. You verify prestressing operations, review designs and strength records, and accept or reject finished products while maintaining PCI/DOT QC records.

The role requires PCI Level II certification with 2+ years of plant experience, knowledge of PCI MNL-116/117 and DOT specs, and

Qualifications

PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
ACI strength testing certification preferred.
Able to enforce specifications on a production line when schedules are tight.

Responsibilities

Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation and detensioning sequence.
Review mix designs, batch tickets and strength records.
Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings.
Maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs.
Supervise Level I inspectors and assign daily coverage.
Travel between plants on project assignments with per diem as assigned.
