Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production, or to perform owner and agency inspections for DOT programs. You will verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and accept or reject finished products based on specifications.

Responsibilities include maintaining PCI and DOT records, supervising Level I inspectors, and ensuring compliance with PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification held current and with 2+ years in a precast/prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and DOT precast specs for the state.
• ACI strength testing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records; adjust with the plant as needed.
• Accept or reject finished products against specs and shop drawings; disposition repairs.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs; supervise Level I inspectors.
