Job summary

BlackHawk Data seeks a Senior Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales Engineering) to collaborate with the sales team as the primary technical partner on strategic accounts. You will drive outcomes across security, networking, cloud, and managed services, shaping proposals and delivery strategies.

You will lead architecture sessions, design workshops, and POC demonstrations, translating complex technology into business value for executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years IT experience with 3+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales role at a VAR, MSP, or IT services firm.
• Deep cybersecurity expertise: NGFW, SASE, ZTNA, EDR/XDR, SIEM, identity-based security.
• Strong enterprise networking knowledge: SD-WAN, routing, switching, 802.11ax/Wi‑Fi 6, network segmentation.
• Experience architecting hybrid/multi-cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proven ability to build and present outcome-based business cases for managed services and multi-year roadmaps.
• Polished executive communication: present Zero Trust architecture to CIOs and cost Justifications to CFOs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical lead on strategic pre-sales engagements across all technology domains.
• Lead customer-facing design workshops and architecture sessions with technical and executive stakeholders.
• Own the technical win strategy for multi-tower opportunities involving networking, cybersecurity, SASE, ZTNA, cloud, and managed services.
• Develop and deliver executive briefings, whiteboard sessions, and POC demos translating technology into business outcomes.
• Architect comprehensive solutions across cybersecurity, enterprise networking, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and compute infrastructure.
• Produce BOMs, SOWs, and solution documents for C-level and delivery teams.
• Represent BlackHawk at vendor partner events and maintain vendor relationships.
• Mentor junior SAs and contribute to playbooks and reference designs.
