Under VP Research, the Specialist guides PIs through the proposal lifecycle, from opportunity identification to sponsor submission, ensuring compliance and timeliness.

The role emphasizes collaboration with ORSP staff, timely guidance, and process improvement to deliver high-quality, competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Experience supporting proposals from opportunity discovery through sponsor submission.
• Ability to develop budgets and timelines for external funding.
• Knowledge of sponsor guidelines and university policies.
• Strong communication with PIs and study staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-award and proposal development support to PIs and staff.
• Serve as primary contact for PIs throughout the proposal lifecycle.
• Interpret sponsor requirements and develop timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate components and approvals and review materials for completeness and compliance.
• Independently manage multiple proposal activities and deadlines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of pre-award processes and services.
