Job summary

Texas A&M University-San Antonio is seeking a Senior Pre-Award Specialist to provide comprehensive pre-award support and proposal development for external funding opportunities. The role involves advising PIs, coordinating timelines, budgets, and compliance across sponsor requirements, and collaborating with ORSP and institutional offices to ensure high-quality proposals.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Requires four (4) years of related experience in proposal development, budgeting, or project management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary pre-award contact for assigned PIs, departments, colleges, or research units.
• Guide investigators through the full proposal process from identification through sponsor submission.
• Review funding opportunity announcements, sponsor policies, and submission instructions to communicate requirements clearly.
• Develop and manage proposal timelines, checklists, and submission plans to coordinate components and approvals.
• Prepare, review, and facilitate proposal submissions through sponsor portals and institutional systems.
• Maintain complete proposal records for institutional tracking and reporting.
