Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is seeking a Practice Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and serve as site-specific lead for patient throughput, facilities and inventory control. The role ensures alignment with Department of Psychiatry policies and procedures and reports to the Director of Operations.

The position emphasizes coordinating staff, developing scheduling policies, monitoring revenue cycle metrics, and collaborating with IT, facilities, and vendors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience; plus four years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and serve as site lead for patient throughput, facilities and inventory control.
• Develop and implement policies for patient scheduling and operational issues in the office practice.
• Oversee ordering and stocking of all clinical and office supplies (including PPE).
• Ensure optimal use of the facility by adjusting staffing, patient density, and space utilization.
• Monitor clinic dashboards and revenue cycle activities including physician billing and copay collection.
• Oversee the physical environment of all sites, interfacing with IT, facilities, and vendors.
• Lead staff meetings and assign daily/weekly/monthly tasks for coverage and coordination.
• Direct HR management, performance evaluations, and staff development to meet organizational goals.
