Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Senior Manager of Public Relations and External Communications. You will lead brand storytelling, craft narratives for executives, and shape responsible business messaging across channels. You will partner with Corporate Affairs and senior leaders to weave CSR into Verizon’s broader identity.

You’ll drive strategic programs, manage cross-functional teams, and measure impact to continuously improve communications and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience demonstrated through work/military/training.
• Exceptional writing skills and ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Understanding of brand purpose and policy landscape, incl. trends.
• Proven success supporting, prepping, and advising senior-level executives.
• Proven record creating and executing brand purpose programs across multiple communications verticals.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning and program development across communications verticals (owned, earned, shared, paid).
• Executive communications and counsel for senior leaders, including briefing materials.
• Media relations strategy with a network of top-tier contacts to secure placements.
• Cross-functional collaboration to align enterprise-wide communications.
• Strategic writing and storytelling to translate complex info into engaging stories.
• Measure and optimize communications plans with data-driven insights.
