Job summary

PACCAR Technical Center in Mount Vernon, WA seeks a Senior System Performance Verification Engineer to drive integration, verification, and optimization of aftertreatment thermal management and 48V systems. You will collaborate with calibration, controls, electrical, and vehicle teams to deliver robust powertrain solutions that meet performance and emissions targets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience in the automotive industry.
• B.S. in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (MS preferred).
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engine operation and powertrain systems.
• Understanding of modern vehicle architectures and trade offs.
• Familiarity with CAN communication protocols and vehicle networks.
• Experience with engine test cells and data analysis.
• Proficient with calibration and data collection tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute validation plans at component, subsystem, powertrain, and vehicle levels to identify system integration issues.
• Define and execute testing activities to support engine aftertreatment development in test cell environment to evaluate fuel economy improvements, system efficiency, thermal performance and emissions.
• Collaborate with Engine Integration, OBD calibration and Vehicle Integration teams to integrate aftertreatment functions.
• Recommend, develop, and execute continuous process improvement to improve product quality, reliability, and durability.
• Stay aware of new and upcoming aftertreatment technologies and testing methods.
• Complete reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Mentor and help develop less experienced engineers.
• Maintain positive working relationships with other groups at PACCAR Technical Center and divisions.
