Cushing Terrell is seeking a Senior Protection & Studies Engineer to lead and grow our firm's protection practice. You will shape the future of our protection capabilities, delivering hands-on engineering excellence and serving as the go-to expert in this space.

In this role, you will design protection schemes for substations and industrial facilities, perform system studies, coordinate relay settings, and mentor a growing team while collaborating across disciplines on high-impact projects.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 8+ years of job-related experience.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and the National Electrical Code.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain by comity) in the hiring state.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical analysis software, ETAP preferred.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in electrical system design including substations, distribution, and industrial installations.
• Ability to prepare fee proposals and studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, and implementation of protection schemes for substations, distribution, and industrial facilities.
• Perform system studies, develop protection schemes, and coordinate relay settings.
• Serve as technical authority, provide guidance and mentorship.
• Help expand protection capabilities and mentor growing team.
• Collaborate across disciplines on sustainable, impactful projects; influence technical direction and firm strategy.
