Job summary

POWERX is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to execute high-level electrical engineering tasks to meet client specifications and project scopes. You will develop technical drawings, perform power system studies, and create equipment specifications while ensuring safety and company standards.

This role will lead design and development activities, review shop drawings, and assist project managers. Travel up to 25% and licensing in electrical engineering are valued in a dynamic, safety-conscious

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Successful completion of the Engineering Principles and Practice Examination.
Licensed Professional Engineer.
10+ years of experience in electrical power systems engineering.

Responsibilities

Create detailed electrical drawings for substations and MV systems (one-line, grounding, wiring diagrams).
Develop specifications for electrical power equipment (transformers, breakers, reclosers, switches, cables).
Perform power system studies (short circuit, load flow, arc flash) using engineering software.
Develop protective device settings, subject to PM review.
Review shop drawings for plans and specs; ensure compliance.
Assist PMs by reviewing work of engineers, technicians, designers, and interns.
Seal electrical drawings, specifications, and reports as needed.
Assist with testing of electrical equipment (relay, LV/MV breaker, transformer).
