Job summary

Current Power is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function, ensuring safety, quality, and profitability across engineered-to-order electrical power and electro-mechanical systems.

You will direct the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and Project Engineering teams, align resources, and drive design reviews, risk assessments, and change management while partnering across Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Quality to meet scope, schedule, cost, and performance commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in industrial electrical power and control systems or related environments.
• 4+ years in direct people leadership managing engineers or designers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, including prioritization, coaching, and performance management.
• Translate business priorities into resource capacity plans and balance workloads across projects.
• Own engineering execution across the full project lifecycle from contract review to closeout.
• Establish engineering plans, budgets, schedules, and review milestones; take corrective action as needed.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, standards, and safety expectations.
• Review and approve critical deliverables such as diagrams, schematics, BOMs, and test plans.
• Act as technical authority for power distribution, control systems, and electromechanical equipment integration.
• Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and change-management processes.
• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality to improve manufacturability and field serviceability.
• Support Sales with scope definition and technical estimates; assist in negotiations and proposals.
• Maintain engineering standards, document control, and workflow processes.
• Report performance indicators and risks to leadership; drive continuous improvement.
• Recruit, onboard, and mentor engineering staff while fostering a safe, inclusive culture.
• Support FATs, commissioning, field investigations, and warranty resolution as needed.
