Job summary

ON.energy in the United States is seeking a Senior Power Systems Modeling Engineer who will own power system modeling, validation, and grid performance assessment. This role sets modeling standards and leads high-impact EMT/dynamic studies across hardware, firmware, and plant operating modes.

You will support interconnection studies, product qualification, and large-load projects while coordinating with R&D, Controls, Test, Product, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5-8 years of advanced power systems modeling experience.
• Experience with EMT, RMS, dynamic modeling and BESS/inverter-based resources.
• Familiarity with ISO interconnection requirements and NERC standards.

Responsibilities

• Define modeling standards and validation methods for EMT, RMS, and real-time simulations.
• Own model lifecycle and ensure alignment with hardware and controls.
• Lead EMT and dynamic models supporting interconnection studies and product qualification.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with external consultants.
