Job summary
SB Energy seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead electromagnetic transient studies for hyperscale data centers. Model, simulate, and validate power-systems solutions, focusing on EMT studies, grid interconnection, and dynamic analysis of onsite generation, storage, and mission-critical electrical systems.
Responsibilities include developing in-house models, interconnection studies, coordinating with utilities/ISOs, and delivering technical reports demonstrating reliability and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years, Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong background in power-systems analysis and interconnection requirements.
- Proven experience in PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP platforms.
- Experience with deployments across multiple ISO/RTO regions is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain in-house power system models for hyperscale data centre power systems.
- Lead EMT modelling and transient studies using PSCAD/EMT tools.
- Perform grid studies to validate compliance with utility and ISO requirements.
- Review vendor models and validate simulation results.
- Support commissioning and field validation with model tuning.
