Job summary

Group CBS, Inc. seeks a hands-on Field Service Technician to test, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and commission electrical power equipment at customer facilities.

You will perform complex electrical and mechanical tasks to ensure power systems operate safely and reliably, with occasional travel and on-call support. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, independent work, and the ability to read schematics and reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Eight or more years of experience in electrical testing, maintenance, commissioning, or substation work.
• Familiarity with NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA, DOT standards.
• NETA certification or ability to obtain NETA Level III or IV certification.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs on electrical power equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in substations and power systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Complete service reports, testing documentation, and customer deliverables.
• Support emergency response work and customer outage situations as needed.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
