Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Boca Raton, FL, seeks a Senior Electrical Project Manager to expand our Renewable Energy practice. You will lead planning, analysis, and execution of complex power system studies for utility, renewable, storage, and large commercial projects, with autonomy to grow the business.

Expect to serve as technical lead for modeling and reporting using ETAP, SKM, and other tools, and to guide cross-functional teams across offices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience managing electrical projects.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Excellent communication across all levels.
• Ability to mentor staff and manage resources effectively.
• Proven track record of profitable project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, analysis, and execution of complex power system studies for utility, renewable generation, energy storage, industrial, and large commercial projects.
• Serve as the technical lead for power system modeling and reporting using industry-standard software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, CYME, PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerWorld).
• Develop and review technical deliverables including study reports, protective relay settings, one-line diagrams, interconnection documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Kimley-Horn offices on transmission, distribution, substation, renewable energy, and large-load projects.
• Support clients through interconnection processes, regulatory compliance, system upgrades, and grid modernization initiatives.
• Prepare proposals, scopes, estimates, and study methodologies to expand services across markets.
• Lead, mentor, and grow staff while delivering projects profitably and maintaining autonomy.
