Job summary

Electrical District No. 2 (ED2) of Pinal County is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to support design, maintenance, and operations of the district’s electric power systems.

The role emphasizes substations, SCADA, and protection schemes, with opportunities to progress across levels from I to Senior based on experience. The organization is a not-for-profit public power utility serving central Arizona, located between Casa Grande and Coolidge.

Qualifications

• Three-phase power systems design and operation knowledge.
• Protective relay configuration and operation.
• SCADA system design and operation.
• Data communications protocols (DNP3, Modbus).
• Systems configuration management principles.
• Power system equipment knowledge: transformers, switchgear, instrument transformers, air switches, panelboards, batteries.

Responsibilities

• Designing/submitting substation and transmission equipment layouts.
• Coordinate and review OEM drawings and procurement plans.
• Estimate costs and develop capital workplans.
• Maintain and update engineering records and system models.
• Develop procedures for all systems and support other departments.
