Job summary

Wind Energy Transmission Texas (WETT) seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer in Austin, TX to provide technical support for transmission and substation assets, synchronous condensers, and reliability programs. The role involves coordinating outages, updating operational models, and developing SOPs while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Minimum 7 years in transmission system operations.
• Experience with high-voltage substation equipment.
• Familiar with ERCOT nodal protocols and operating guides.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for synchronous condenser facilities and related systems.
• Develop equipment maintenance strategies and reliability programs.
• Lead root cause analyses for equipment failures.
• Support commissioning and energization of new facilities and major modifications.
• Review equipment specs and FAT documentation.
• Develop asset health assessments and risk mitigation plans.
• Coordinate major equipment outages and restoration activities.
• Assist system operators during real-time events and emergencies.
