Job summary

Wind Energy Transmission Texas (WETT) seeks a Sr. Transmission Planning Engineer to lead planning studies for system upgrades and interconnections in Texas.

You will support capital investment decisions and ensure compliance with NERC, ERCOT, and FERC standards while coordinating with ERCOT and other utilities. You will represent WETT in ERCOT working groups, manage Transmission Expansion and Interconnection projects, and collaborate with internal teams and consultants to deliver dependable,

Qualifications

• BSEE from an accredited university.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive transmission planning experience.
• Experience with TSPs and ERCOT preferred.
• Expert level skills with PSSE, TARA, PowerWorld and ASPEN.
• Strong knowledge of NERC, FERC, ERCOT standards.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform planning studies for system upgrades and interconnections.
• Collaborate with ERCOT and utilities on system conditions and planning assessments.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, ERCOT, and FERC standards.
• Represent WETT in ERCOT working groups and stakeholder meetings.
• Manage Transmission Expansion, Generation Interconnection, and Large Load Interconnection projects.
• Review Planning Procedures for reliability standards and procedures.
• Coordinate with internal departments and third-party consultants.
