Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Power Systems Engineer, Energy Storage to design and integrate advanced energy storage for AWS data centers. You will model power flow, evaluate storage configurations, and lead cross-team design decisions to maximize uptime and minimize costs.

The role requires deep knowledge of power systems, energy storage tech, and data analytics, with collaboration across utility, hardware, software, and operations teams. Domestic travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
6+ years of experience with power systems or electrical design.
Experience with dynamic and transient power system modeling software such as PSCAD/PSSE.
Experience and knowledge of energy storage equipment and controls.
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and electrical drawing packages.
Experience with data analytics, data querying, scripting, and working with large data sets.

Responsibilities

Develop designs and analysis of energy storage technologies, including battery and long duration storage.
Integrate energy storage with utilities, generators, microgrids, and renewable sources for data center loads.
Model power flow and optimize capacity and utilization across data center architectures.
Review and develop SLDs, drawings, submittals, and equipment specifications for new and upgraded centers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design decisions and manage risks across power systems.
