Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) Austin seeks a power design engineer to architect and validate PDN for CPUs/GPUs/APUs. You will help select components, guide layout decisions, and model impedance to ensure power integrity across critical compute domains.

You will work with SoC architects and validation teams to deliver robust power solutions, mentoring juniors and contributing to system-level verification and tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with power delivery and PDN design for high-end CPUs/GPUs/APUs.
• PCB layout and schematic capture using industry tools.
• Hands-on lab experience with test equipment and validation.
• Knowledge of high-frequency magnetics and multi-phase regulators.

Responsibilities

• Support architecture, design, analysis, and verification of PDN for high-performance compute platforms.
• Model and validate PDN impedance and droop targets; verify power integrity in silicon measurements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select components and design layouts.
• Mentor junior engineers and help develop test plans for system-level validation.
