Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Power Design Engineer to shape power delivery for high-performance CPUs/GPUs. You will drive PDN architecture, verify impedance targets, and guide layout and component choices across multi-disciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes mentoring, lab validation, and collaboration with SoC and system architects to push the latest power delivery technologies in AMD products.

Qualifications

• Proven technical understanding of power supply architectures and PDN in server, OAM, and PCIe environments.
• Experience with design/validation processes to meet high quality/reliability requirements.
• Familiarity with multi-phase regulators, digital PWM controllers, and related power components.

Responsibilities

• Support architecture, design, analysis, and verification of PDN for high-performance CPUs/GPUs/APUs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define optimum component selection and layout guidelines.
• Develop test plans with Board Validation to characterize design margins on power domains.
• Mentor junior power engineers and review their design/validation work.
